Tropical Fruit Plants

Tropical fruit plants grown in Central Florida and shipped as tissue culture starters. These are the crops that make a Florida yard feel like somewhere else — dragon fruit cactus climbing a post, passion fruit vine swallowing a fence, bananas throwing shade over a patio.

Everything here is propagated from tissue culture, meaning each plant is started in a sterile lab from a single healthy parent. For tropical fruit that is a bigger deal than it sounds. Passion fruit does not come true from seed, so a vine grown from a supermarket fruit is a genuine gamble on flavor. Dragon fruit is notoriously mislabeled in the cutting trade. And banana pathogens like Panama disease travel readily through the pup division that backyard growers normally rely on. Clean lab-grown stock removes all three problems.

Most of what we grow here is self-fertile, so you do not need to buy two of anything to get fruit, and nearly all of it will produce in a large container if you are short on yard space or want the option of moving plants under cover for a freeze.
